I’d cover your bases by doing queries for common sub domains (mail, again without a zone file all you can do is document the queries you did, as evidence that you took reasonable steps to reduce the risk of missing records. Sub domains may exist but is unlikely if the current provider is only interested in Email hosting. I’d do specific queries for TXT records to check for any SPF or DKIM records that maybe in place to help with email deliverability and these might not be included in the ANY response due to size. I’ve been in that position a few times and it hasn’t bitten me yet but your mileage may vary! In your case if you can’t get a zone file out of the current DNS provider, it will unfortunately be a case of crossing your fingers and hoping. In lots of places ANY queries have limitations or are blocked entirely due to security concerns. The “Any” or “*” query isn’t reliable for getting an entire zone, the RFCs place no expectation on on the server to give a complete answer to this query. Thanks for any advice you may have so I can complete this successfully. ( edit: I think I also have to consider and - how do I know all the possible subdomains I need to check for DNS records?) Given this, does it seem like I have all the information I need and my plan is sound? I will set a low TTL at first, even though it probably doesn't matter since the MX target is not changing. I just want to make sure my game plan will not cause them any impact to email services.ĭIG ANY reports this: QUESTION SECTION:Į. It appears that I'm going to need to eliminate the email hosting company as DNS and either use the DNS zone at the registrar - or change DNS at the registrar to my own DNS servers - where I will establish the MX records. Therefore, I can't simply change the A record to point to my http service. Or if they do, nobody on their tech support team knows how to allow it. It is an expert provider of dialogue marketing and press distribution services as well as. The email service does not allow any access to DNS records. Deutsche Post delivers mail and parcel in Germany and the world. The domain registrar ( networksolutions) is using the nameservers provided by Right now is only used for email, and the email service is via which is a service provided by their broadband company. I'm still pretty new at this, thus the worry about what is probably something fairly simple: * LIST (\HasNoChildren) "/" "/To Do"Ģ20 gmx.net (mrgmx005) Nemesis ESMTP Service readyĢ Hello LeMac.local Ģ Hello LeMac.I have a customer whom I will be hosting a website for, let's say it is. * LIST (\HasNoChildren) "/" "/Send Later" * LIST (\Archive \HasNoChildren) "/" Archive * CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 CHILDREN ENABLE ID IDLE LIST-EXTENDED LIST-STATUS LITERAL- MOVE NAMESPACE SASL-IR SORT SPECIAL-USE THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT UIDPLUS UNSELECT WITHIN APPENDLIMIT=71303168 (SMTP) Enter your email account credentials to get started.Important: GMX requires that you enable IMAP before using email clients like Mailspring. Be sure to include a password and password recovery address. The SMTP server would not relay a message. With an internet connection, fill out the form presented on first startup. The log message I’m getting (same as above): -SMTP. I’d really appreciate it if a fix could be released soon. The account works just fine with other clients. Then after I did a clean reinstall of Win 11 I can’t even set it up (for what it’s worth I updated Windows to 22H2 - but everything else should be the same, i.e. I’m getting the exact same problem when trying to setup my account - but what really puzzles me is that it worked just fine yesterday. SMTP Last Response: 4.1.2 : Recipient address rejected: Domain not foundĪs you can see, part of the account setup process is to send a test message to which fails because isn’t a real domain so gandi’s SMTP server rejects it outright. We have a dedicated team working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. We apologize, we are experiencing technical difficulties. Here’s the log when trying to setup a email address… -SMTP-Ĥ50 4.1.2 : Recipient address rejected: Domain not found We apologize, we are experiencing technical difficulties. So right off the bat, I can’t use Mailspring. I can’t add my email to Mailspring because ’s SMTP server won’t send to a domain that doesn’t exist. Yeah this is definitely a bug, and a showstopper at that.
